Moviefone SXSW Sweepstakes: Win a $100 Movie Theater Gift Card!

Musicians don't have all the fun at the annual SXSW (South by Southwest) festival. For filmmakers, the Austin-based festival's extraordinary film leg, this year running March 12-20, is the major draw. That's because the nine-day portion provides filmmakers a rare, unbiased creative environment, where a dynamic mix of both emerging and established talents are considered one and the same.

'Our Family Wedding' Movie Reviews

The comedy that's vying to knock 'Alice in Wonderland' off it's box office pedestal, 'Our Family Wedding' centers on Lucia (played by America Ferrera), a would-be bride trying to get married over the objections of everyone except the groom. Call it 'Lucia in Crazyland.'

Lucia's Mexican-American family and her fiancé's African-American family experience a cultural wedding crash. And yet some of the movie's catastrophes are familiar to everyone: overbearing fathers, nutty grandmas and wayward farm animals (okay, maybe not that last one).

Weddings have been the centerpiece of some of the best romantic comedies. 'My Best Friend's Wedding' struck the right balance between the hokey and the pokey. In 'Our Family Wedding's' favor is a promising cast. Director and co-writer Rick Famuyiwa has a knack for great ensembles -- 2002's 'Brown Sugar' was graced with a must-see line-up: Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan, Mos Def and Queen Latifa. For 'Wedding,' Famuyiwa nabbed an intriguing and eclectic group of actors, including Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker and Ferrera (who has won awards for her film work in addition to her 'Ugly Betty' antics). Joining them are 'Southland's' Regina King, beloved character actress Lupe Ontiveros ('Chuck & Buck') and comic Charlie Murphy ('Chappelle's Show.')

What kind of reception did 'Wedding' get? Let's take a look.

'Remember Me' Movie Reviews

Robert Pattinson may have scrubbed off his sparkly vampire sheen for 'Remember Me,' but rest assured: That carefully disheveled hair and those chiseled cheekbones are still blessedly intact.

And despite Twihards getting all lathered up over a much-clicked on shower scene, this romantic drama does, in fact, have a plot: Pattinson plays Tyler, a rich, brooding New York City college student who has taken to punching and stumbling angrily through life in the wake of a family tragedy. That is, until he meets and falls for Ally (Emilie de Ravin, a.k.a crazy Claire from 'Lost'), a coed with her own tragic past.

Lest you dismiss this as just another disaffected youth romance, Pierce Brosnan, Lena Olin and Chris Cooper are also on hand to flex some dramatic parental muscle. The movie -- where Pattinson (also an executive producer on the project) doesn't play some kind of fantasy character -- got a mixed bag of reviews. While some critics praised Pattinson for his non-vamped out role, other were harsh -- not just on the movie itself, but also by spoiling its big twist of an ending.

We endured the spoils so that you don't have to. Check out the sampling of reviews below, and let us know what you think.

Comparing 'Twilight' Trailers -- And Finding Eerie Similarities

Now that the full trailer for 'The Twilight Saga's' newest installment is here, we can't help but notice the similarities between the previews for 2008's 'Twilight,' last year's sequel 'New Moon' and the upcoming summer release, 'Eclipse.'

Each trailer includes sweeping shots of the Pacific Northwest (Oh, was this filmed on location?), faux-sexual tension between the leads illustrated with a shot of Edward getting all up in Bella's grill (so to speak), and piano music transitioning into thumping bass to introduce the supernatural (thanks, 'Harry Potter' trailers).

Are the 'Twilight' editors are using the same seven-item checklist to churn out these trailers? Maybe this is what it looks like.

'Green Zone' Movie Reviews

For a movie that received a ton of pre-release attention for a possible "anti-American" political slant, 'Green Zone' is being called just a pulpy, serviceable action thriller that will be here today, gone tomorrow.

Because the film was shot two years ago, 'Green Zone' seems outdated thematically. The consensus of reviewers is that the Matt Damon-starring movie is lacking in new ideas and sublime sophistication, without the crackle of director Paul Greengrass's 'Bourne' movies, from which he has assembled much of his creative team. You know what that means: shaky cameras, not as much payoff.

Get ready for a ride only Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass ('Bourne Supremacy,' 'Ultimatum') can offer. On Friday, March 12, the actor-director duo re-team for the suspenseful political thriller 'Green Zone.' Based in post-9/11 Iraq, 'Green' will offer up enough action to keep our blood pumping and politics to get us thinking.

Four Ways 'Green Zone' Is Unlike a 'Bourne' Movie

Matt Damon's new film, 'Green Zone,' premieres this weekend and there are a few rumblings floating around that it appears to resemble the fourth installment of the Jason Bourne saga. Sure, it involves the same director and actor as the Bourne films -- Paul Greengrass and Damon. And, sure, the same "shaky cam" technique is used throughout 'Green Zone' such as it was used in the Bourne films. And, strangely enough, Matt Damon plays a military specialist who happens to be named Jason Bourne (okay, that part's not true).

We saw 'Green Zone' last week and we can without a doubt assure you, Green Zone is not a Bourne move (no, really!) and here's why:
