but for once the shoe is on the other foot, the 360 guys are getting the port. I can't argue with SE's business sense, but I can't say I'm not at least a little peeved. Well good news for those with 360s, at least now everyone with next gen systems gets to enjoy the game. In the end that's what really matters.

damn i was reading the updates on my cellphone at work and almost dropped the damn phone when i read this title. i have absolutely no idea what the hell Sony can do to come back from this one. i mean it just seems like they are always playing catch up, and the most they will do is announce something the 360 already has. i think i can safely say, that by the end of the summer, i will be an Xbox 360 owner. everything ive known to be right as a Playstation fan, has slowly but surely been uprooted by the 360. this console race is like watching a championship game and you can just tell that one team wants it alot more than the other team. MS is doing everything they can and i respect that. me and my friend, both Sony/PS3 loyalist, said today that we would buy 360's before summer's end.

Hardly. The game will be one, MAYBE 2 DVDs. Compression is your friend, remember. And since the 360 doesn't support 7.1 channel audio, thats less space that gets eaten up. Seriously though, barely any PS3 games, with the exception of MGS4 for reasons heavily discussed, require more than 1 or 2 DVDs worth of space. The whole "it will take up 9 DVDs" is such an old argument that just holds no ground anymore. People have smartened up and realized that Blu-Ray is not quite the necessity Sony made it out to be.....this generation.

You know, I was looking around for some kind of confirmation of that fact, but I am having a hard time finding anything that swings either way. So far, when asking about FF13vs coming to the 360 as well as FF13, Square-Enix's response has been "FF13 vs. has been put on hold" so they aren't saying yes or no. I'd ASSUME it would, but I am not really sure.

This time around, title exclusives alone aren't driving the train, console capabilities are. It's simply become too cost prohibitive for most devs to cater to exclusivity. So, although this is a blow to Sony, it's not as epic as it would have been last-gen.
In the end, the PS3 version will still rule, because it will all fit on ONE disk. Disk-swapping is going to suck for the 360 crowd.

You act like disc swapping on an RPG is a daunting task. Do you remember disc swapping in previous Final Fantasy games, or ANY RPG for that matter? Once every maybe 10-12 hours, you swap a disc. That is it. After you swap the disc then stop playing the game, just enter the disc you left off at. Stop making it sound like it destroys a game.

I loved FFVII on Playstation, but stopped playing after FFVIII. I haven't even thought about which is better between MS. and Sony as I am having way to much fun with my WII to care. Have fun arguing on the internet. I am going to go play some fun games.

This is great for Xbox owers, but now its going to ruin the game for everyone. Now the developers cant push the graphics to the limit because the game cant be different on either console so now the game will have to be down graded (LIKE GTA for Xbox) because Xbox payed out the ass to get it on there console. So now square enix is obligated to make it for both. So way to go microsoft for ruining a classic title for everyone. Its a fact for anyone that knows about computers, Xbox uses Dual Layer DVDs (8 Gigs) Sony use Blu Ray(up to 50 Gigs) . The same amount of graphical data and etc. will NEVER fit like it would on a blu ray . Now it all has to go according to this shitty Xbox hardware cause it came out so long ago. I mean xbox is a made with extremly cheap parts, just take it apart n look inside.There will never be a game on Xbox in 1080p cause of there Discs. Anyone who says xbox is better OVER a PS3 doesnt have good knowladge of hardware and computers. Rockstar was complaining about Xbox because it was hindering the development of GTA. So they had to basically down grade the game for xbox. The same thing has to happen. Now Final fantasy will prbably be in 720p on both consoles vs 1080p on just ps3 alone. This has to happen. Thanks to microsoft. Of course a development company isnt gonna say no to money, there gonna do it no matter what. So there forced to down grade.GOOD JOB MICROSOFT. And there is definitly no reson to say something like there goes one of PS3s big guns because Final Fantasy isnt coming out for almost 2 years. So there will be so many more games by then and xbox will probably be out of business because of all the returns.

Sorry but your actually WRONG when you say Metal Gear doesnt run in 1080p actually it does,which shows how much you really know so your incorrect which tells me not to listen to anything else you say and even if gran turismo doesnt run 1080p nativly it will still looks alot better. And saying that no games are probably gonna come out in 1080p is extremly stupid.Blu Ray has more then enough storage.Just about every title exclusive to PS3 is gonna run in 1080p.If there already making Games like Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo Prolouge in 1080p alot mroe are going to be. Frankly I'm surprised that MGS4 actually remained exclusive, and I highly doubt it will stay that way for long. Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia and Final Fantasy 13 were my 3 reasons to get a PS3. Now I can keep my 360, and have those 3 games, and then some.
I REAAAALLY want Little Big Planet now though, the demo at the conference was adorable and it looks to be one of the most customizable console games of all time. Maybe when a cheap version of the PS3 comes out, I will get it and LBP too... (or it might come to PSP... I wish).

If they release it for both, Xbox gamers may just buy it to check it out.

I went through 2 Xbox 360's already, those things are made cheap... no blue ray capability, heck the original one didn't even have wireless. Graphic capabilities are way better on PS3.. please.. As an owner of both consoles I'll have to say that im going to have to purchase the ps3 version. I play that console more than my 360. Although thats not the reason why, the reason being that I am a long time FF fan and feel like I should pay homage to the FF series on sony's console, and yes I know it didnt originate on sony and it did on nintendo and that FF11 was out on 360 as well. But all in all, blu ray, the fact that the game will be less of a pain to play with 1 of 2 discs of blu ray than 5 to 6 of normal dvds, or even more, I mean, think, ff games are usually massive in proportion and take a lot of discs, although ff 10 and 12 didnt I guess that squareenix will want a game of large proportion to make up the lack of. There for im guessing about 50+ gb of game data, 1 blu ray disc with the advantage of hdd install as well I wouldnt want to work out how many dvds that would be, even dual layered.

Hey i own an xbox 360, im a proud owner,i use 2 enjoy the old ps1 + ps2 due to top titles like mgs, finalfantasy (7,8 & 9), Resident evil , Command & conquer series etc... now they're all out or due for the 360 im enjoying the 360 more than i ever did... im not even going to mention gears o war 2 and halo wars etc because you already made up your mind and think they are erelavant but i can offord to buy a ps3 but think now ther is no need...sorry guys but sony are now out of good games so people will turn to *The Likes* of good old Microsoft because why pay more for the same games and lots of stupid features the ps3 has. i have seen the ps3 and see no visual diffrence WHAT SO EVER... Had to say this but Sony have Failed me and alot of their other owners

This is -HUGE- I have no need to buy a PS3 now. And Square is also releasing a game called The Last Remnant on the 360 as well, looks awesome.
Now there's already some good RPG's on the 360. Blue Dragon, Lost Odysessy, but nothing like Final Fantasy.... this is huge! Been wanting a Final Fantasy game on Xbox for a long time.

I had a 360....then i got a ps3!
Halo 3 was the last 360 game i played and since then my 360 just gathered dust as i always played the ps3. (bearing in mind at the time none of my friends had a ps3, they had 360's so no multiplay with mates.... although this did change)
I promptly sold my 360, not just because i didn't use it but because i was on my 3rd console and it started to break again!
Also paid out for a huge 1080p tv so Blu-ray is good seeing as HDdvd is now dead.
I'm not getting into an argument about which console is better, it's purely preference and for me the Ps3 is more suitable.
Final Fantasy will sell well on the 360 no doubt but they have mentioned there will be no Jap version for the 360, so in Japan it is still Sony exclusive.
They may change this, they may not but so what?

Why are so many people saying that Sony just got "Pwnd"? I would love to know your reasoning for this...
Im much more of a PC fanboy and nither stand for Sony nor Microsoft but the fact remains that noone in there right mind would buy an $800 console just for one game (Unless your a complete idiot). So why is Sony now "Pwnd"? Do people really think that just because Final Fantasy XIII is coming out for 360 that sales for the PS3 are going to die and the Xbox360 is going to "sky rocket"?
I got my PS3 because of the blu-ray support and thats all I really wanted at the time, and my brother got the 360 (sent to Microsoft 3 times because of overheating issues(red rings)) because it was (slightly) cheaper at the time. But I still use my PS3 because of many of the games that came out, who cares what platform there out on unless your a fanboy.
I just dont think that just because Final Fantasy is coming out for 360 that it now spells the end for Sony...

I dont see the point in people arguing about which game goes were. people should be happy that ffxiii is going to 360 this will mean that 360 and ps3 owners will buy the game and the money that squenix will make will be going into making new and better games for us to play but thats just the way i see it.

This news is huge for me cuz ok I admit I love sony technology, but having FF XIII on my Xbox it´s thrilling and well too I don´t have the PS3 cuz you the the price and all so, well that´s about it. FF rules

Biggest game of the year on biggest console of the year, unlucky sony fan boys haha :). the only reason i was gonna buy one would be to play gta, and now its gonna be on xbox, with better online play haha! good times for an xbox owner
